Article: A Beautiful Future is Emerging

A Beautiful Future is Emerging
Today, many of the stories we hear about the future are stories of collapse, threat and dystopia.
I think many of those concerns and fears have a basis.
However, I also believe we are incredibly creative creatures. I believe our beliefs and our attention are two of our greatest tools of co-creation.
So I've been spending time visualising what I believe is a plausible path forward for humanity, as we stand at this great juncture in our human story.
I believe the rise of Artificial Intelligence is already creating a counter-movement of Natural Intelligence.
A Naturally Intelligent Future
A Naturally Intelligent future is one where technology serves the flourishing of human beings, and human beings serve the flourishing of life. A future where power is decentralised, nature is regenerated, people are connected, and oriented toward what is beautiful, meaningful and true.
The complexity and diversity of the challenges we face today will not be solved through intellect alone. It requires a deeper intelligence: the creative force that has brought life to where it is today. An intelligence that orchestrates entire ecosystems that produce abundant life, yet zero waste. An intelligence that harmonises unity and diversity, simultaneously conducting an incalculable symphony of individuated, yet interdependent parts.
Within you alone there are tens of trillions of cells, trillions of microbes, billions of neurons, hundreds of bones and dozens of organs, all integrated and coordinated into one living body.
Consider the Argentine ant. One supercolony stretches more than 6,000 kilometres along the Mediterranean coast and contains billions of individuals. Without central command, they build intricate nests, living bridges, fungal farms and efficient foraging networks.
We have been disembodied by the modern world,
but the body of humanity is waking back up.
It isn't comfortable, but it is necessary.
As our deeper Natural Intelligence comes back online, I believe we will begin reconnecting with ourselves, each other and our home, the Earth.
In my next few posts, I'll share what I believe this future could look like, including:
-
The Rise of the Authentic Artisan
-
The Rebirth of Connected Communities
-
Ecology over Economy
-
The Garden of Humanity
The process of becoming can be painful.
Remembering what we have forgotten can be sorrowful.
But coming back to our true nature will be beautiful.
Stay tuned, stay hopeful, stay you,
Peace and Love,
Alex
